We are a 35 place nursery. We have been establish since 2001 and can accommodate children from 3 months to 5 years. Opening hours are from 7.30 am until 6 pm and we can offer full day time care or part time care. Please enquire for availability to suit your needs. Fiona Schulte is our owner of the nursery who has successfully run nurseries for over 30 years, Fiona is our director who is a member of our management team and chairperson at meetings etc. The Manager of the nursery is Suzanne Mitchell; Emma Orphant is our deputy manager and outdoor officer.
We have a high standard of care which is supported through clear policies and procedures held within the nursery. We are careful to observe, plan, implement and develop possible lines of development for individual children throughout their time within Seahorse. Each child has their own personal learning Journal online which staff, children and parents add to throughout their time here. This consists of the child’s own development records, observations, photos and art work. We provide many experiences to incorporate and encourage our children to be responsible, respectful and develop healthy relationships.
Seahorse Nursery is run from a large detached stone built property in Cockenzie. The building is set over 2 floors with upstairs used solely for our 3 to 5 years old and the downstairs for the 3 months – 3 years age groups. We have a large completely enclosed garden for all children.
