Important Information: Please could all Parents take note of our revised COVID 19 guidance from today’s date 23/08/2021 Due to the rising Local community cases, we are erring on the side of caution and will be putting the following into place as Policy at Seahorse. After Consultation with staff and Management, we would like to make parents aware that our Policy will be that if any of your household IS self-Isolating with a POSITIVE Covid result or any member of your household is awaiting a result, your child should not attend Seahorse until the self-Isolation period of 10 days is complete or a negative test has been made by all in the household. This is to minimise the risk of asymptomatic cases being in the nursery and to protect children and staff from a possible outbreak. We currently have staff who have not yet received 2 vaccines, (therefore would have to self-Isolate for ten days if a case was found in their room and there would be a possibility of the Nursery having to close if too many staff had to isolate. Most staff will have had the 2nd vaccine by 20th Sept; therefore, we will be keeping this in place and reviewing from Sept 22nd. I hope you appreciate that this is what we feel is best to protect our team, staff members, and the children at Seahorse. What should I do if my child has COVID-19 symptoms? If your child/young person is showing any symptoms of COVID-19 please do not send them to nursery. You should inform the office of their absence in the usual way then self-isolate following guidance from NHS Inform and Test and Protect. Book a test and let us know by phone call or email (out of hours) of the result.;The most common symptoms of Covid-19 are:
- a new, continuous cough
- a fever/high temperature
- a change or loss in taste and or/ smell
Key points you should be aware of which apply to our early years setting:
- children are not required to physically distance from each other, or from adults
- enhanced ventilation will remain in place so your child should come to nursery with clothing suitable to keep them warm and for outdoor play
- handwashing will take place on arrival at the setting, at regular intervals throughout the day and when moving between different areas
kind regards
Management team
